Motorcycle cake

My son LOVES motorcycles, and wanted a motorcycle themed party. I love to create fun cakes, it was something my mom always did for us as kids. Now that I found this great website, it will be even easier to come up with more great ideas for the kids!

To make this dirtbike race cake, I started with 2 11x7 cake pans and baked one side chocolate and one side vanilla. I placed them side by side on a large cake board and iced them together with vanilla icing.

For the track I used graham cracker crumbs and for the ramp I used sugar wafer cookies to form an upside down "v" and iced over it. The finish line is licorice candy and the flag is a toothpick with a piece of paper decorated like a finish line flag taped to the end. Then, I just used two of my son's toy motorcycles to place on top of the cake.

It was a lot of fun to make, and the kids thought it was cool!
