This was my first time making and personalizing a birthday cake. I was scared I would mess it up for sure. Instead of panicking I packed my 4 year old son in the car and told him we were going to find decorations for his sisters birthday cake.
At first it was kinda hard but my 4 year old son was all for it. He found the pretty shells all different colors and we chose the three my little ponies at a thrift store. We also bought some kind of "girly" style chair that must go with my little pony, or barbie or some set, we weren't sure but we picked that out too.
We bought frosting in the packages already made, the white kind. Then we dyed a little bit in a bowl with food coloring we thought would look nice. I let my 4 year old choose. He was a big helper
A lady I met let me borrow her cake icing supplies. I was so glad for that. That really helped me feel a bit more confident.
My 12 year old daughter just loved it.
