I made this cake for a very close friend of mines daughter for her 3rd birthday. I used the Wilton Wonder Mold pan with an original Barbie doll. I don't particularly care for the doll picks that come with the pan, so I chose the Barbie that was suitable for the event. I sat the Barbie cake on top of a half sheet strawberry cake. I tinted my homemade whipped frosting two different shades of pink to try to match up as closely as possible to the Barbie dress. I left the dress on Barbie and just wrapped it tightly up to the waist with saran wrap. I had to cut a slightly larger hole in the top of the dress cake in order to stick Barbie in. The half sheet gave a little height so Barbie could stand up without detaching her legs. This was my very first Barbie cake and I had so much fun creating it, so I know it won't be my last!
