Cool Homemade Nemo Cake

This was a Nemo cake I made for my 1 year old boy who loves Nemo. It is made from two Betty Crocker pound cake mixes. I used bowls for cake pans in different sizes.

For the body I used a mixing bowl and different sized custard cups for the fins. I used chocolate frosting and the black food coloring….(this is a suggestion that I got from the instructions, that way you use less coloring). From there I just used a picture of Nemo to shape the cake and fins. It is important to use pound cake because it holds together really well even after it has been cut and is less crumby.

I used frosting to paste it together then used a decorating bag and star tip to give it an even texture. I used a tip that left lines in the fins to give them a fin like texture. My son loved it and it was a big hit at the party.
