This Pilgrim cake was made for my son's pre-k Thanksgiving Feast. The pilgrim’s head is a yellow round cake, the basket of corn is also yellow cake that I baked in an octagon pan, then cut in half to resemble a basket. The sheet cake is chocolate and covered in fondant.
The corn? NUTTERBUTTER COOKIES. I placed them in the basket, dotted yellow frosting for the kernels and gave them some green husks. NOTE!! Peanut allergies are prevalent in children.
Be sure before doing this for kids that they do not have peanut allergies or at least alert the person in charge that it does contain peanut butter (the cookies).
