Rainbow fondant cake

I decorated this double chocolate chip cake with marshmallow fondant for a four year olds birthday party. I love using marshmallow fondant because it's easy to make and easy to work with! It tastes good too! She wanted a "rainbow" cake, so that's what I gave her! I chose bold colors, and accented them with stars and clouds for a whimsical feel. I topped the cake with what I like to call "Pop art", which always adds more dimension to a cake. I curl my wire around a pencil to give it some "spring". Then add some small fondant cut-outs to the tips for a finished look! I also made 3 dozen rainbow cupcakes to match the cake (not shown). It is always a fun idea to make cupcakes along with your cake when serving small children at a party. They all get equal amounts, and don't complain that somone else got the flower, star, etc! :)
