Roses Are Red

Roses Are Red

I made this cake for a member of our church. She likes roses a lot and the color red. The roses are sugar candied roses. I put a red ribbon around each layer to give it a nice silky smooth look.
I used the 2 rectangle cake pans to make the two layer cake.
The top one is an 8 inch and the bottom one is a 12 inch.
I used buttercream frosting to layer the two cakes, and I made the homeade fondant out of marshmallow because it tastes better.I used the small marshmallows with about a tablespoon of water and melted in a glass bowl in increments of 40 seconds at a time until the marshmallows were completey melted and mixed it in with the confectionate sugar until I made a dough ball. It took me 2 1/2 days to make it the cake. She enjoyed it along with the rest of her family.
