I love Ernie so this year for my 23rd birthday party I needed to make a large Sesame street character cake that would feed 100 people. The body was made in a turkey basting pan, the head from a regular round cake pan and then the arms, feet, nose and hair where cut from a regular 8 x 12 pan. Actually very easy to make, just takes a lot of attention to detail! Definitely fed the 100 people that came so good idea if you need something large!

I used the Wilton Bert & Ernie cake pan from the 1970's to create this Sesame Street character cake for our twin boys' 3rd birthday party. I used a butter cake recipe, and Betty Crocker cream cheese frosting colored in the appropriate shades. The hair is homemade chocolate buttercream frosting with black food coloring added.
I also iced these sugar cookies to look like Cookie Monster to go along with the cake.
