Sponge Bob Jelly Fish Ice cream Cake

by Veronica
(Nevada)

I made this cake for my sons 4th birthday. He requested Sponge Bob to be on a jelly fish, so I came up with this. The jelly fish is a large cupcake I covered and shaped in dyed fondant. Sponge Bob is a Marshmallow pop I bought at the store but it was only his body so I stuck him in the jelly fish and made him fondant arms and legs. The pineapple house is a real hollowed out pineapple with some molded fondant decorations. The cake itself was a ice cream cake I made with a 9x13 rectangular pan. I baked two cakes in the pan then put in the freezer until ready to put together. I placed clear wrap in the same pan I made the cakes, and then spread a softened(not melted)1.5 quart ice cream in the pan. I placed in freezer over night to harden. The next morning I stacked my cake ice cream and more cake together. I frosted it all with a whip cream frosting put my decorations on and put it back in the freezer until ready to serve.
