Spotty Cake

I used white (roll out) icing (unsure of proper name).
I had alot of fun making this cake ...
I made 2 round chocolate cakes .. 2 different sizes and then a small heart cake to go on top.
The polka dots are the off cuts of icing which i re rolled to and then cut into 6 pieces and then coloured using food colouring.
to make the circles i used a medicine cup and a formula scoop. they made the perfect sized dots.
to hold the icing on the cake i spread apricot jam which i had warmed up to help to spread it.
The chocolate cake I made for the heart was a different recipe to the 2 round cakes .. I made a microwave choc cake .. here is the recipe ..
5 minute chocolate cake
ingredients:
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons choc chips (optional)
a splash of vanilla essence
1 large coffee mug
method:
add dry ingredients to the mug and mix well.
add egg, mix well. pour in milk and oil and mix well.
add vanilla essence, mix well.
cook in the microwave for 3minutes.
Allow to cool a little then tip out into a plate if desired.
this cake can also be eaten with ice cream if desired.
