I had my niece come to me and ask me to bake her a cake for her 13th birthday party. She wanted 3 layers and I was not too sure of it but I started planning how I was going to manage this. I am not a pro at the decorating thing and did not know anything about fondant, except what I had seen on Ace of Cakes. I used my usual pound cake recipe and made a butter cream icing. I put the buttercream on each layer and then I rolle the fondant and put it on each layer. Then I cut out the circles and placed them on the cake using the icing as glue. I had a great time making the cake and it was a hit at the party. I had a few other people ask for cakes like this for their kids but I just do not know what to charge.
