Teenage Hero Turtle Cake

by Beverley
(England)

This cake was made for my friend's little boys 4th birthday.

I started by cooking 7 sponge cakes and layered them all together.
I then carved the cakes into a roundish shape...similar to a turtle hero. I added green butter icing all over.
I used royal icing for the eyes and bandanna. I screwed the cakes all together for added support.
I also made a rat out of royal icing and added it to the side for an added extra!

The name I cut out of royal icing and placed them onto the tray I used which happened to be a baking tray as I had no cake trays!

And this is how it turned out. The cake was really heavy, but very yummy and as it was all cake, there was enough to feed a small army.
