Texas Holdem Cake

I made this cake for my husband's surprise 25th birthday. he loves poker, especially Texas Holdem.

I made a chocolate pound cake, and a vanilla pound cake, with buttercream. I used leaf green for the green fondant (I used marshmallow fondant).

The chips and cards are all fondant too, and were painted with food coloring gel. The face cards I drew with edible marker.

My only complaint was that it was so hot and humid that my fondant had a hard time stretching out in one piece to cover the cake, so I had to do it in 2 sections, so that's why there is a slight line down the middle. But everyone went crazy over it.

Overall I was pretty happy with it. It was my first fondant cake ever, so hopefully I'll get better with time. I already have requests from people to do cakes! woo hoo!
