This was my first shot at a tiered cake! I baked the cakes using three different cake pan sizes from Michaels. Then I made lots of butter cream icing and colored it using the Wiltons colors. I piled all the cakes carefully on top of one another when cooled. Then I did a soft scratch coat layer first, then another layer to smooth the cake out. I piped on flowers and leaves and stuck tink in the middle of the cake! I also sprinkled the cake with "pixie dust" to give it some sparkling glimmer (the edible one from Michaels). I crafted the bow out of fondant. I never used fondant before so I rolled it out and played with it for a while. I was time consuming making all the different colors to pipe with but so worth it! The birthday girl still talks about her cake 2 years later and wants me to make her another one this year! Good luck!
