Trey's 39th Birthday Jeep Cake

Happy Birthday Trey!
My boyfriend drives an older red jeep cherokee and I wanted to make a cake to look like his jeep for his birthday. I used a homemade recipe for the top of the cake and a box devil's food cake for the bottom. I cut the top to look like a windshield and used the cut off piece to prop the cake up off the bottom of the base. Then I used chocolate donuts for wheels, licorice for the roof rack and bumper, wrapped hershey's kisses for headlights and dots for the fog lights. I also used a homemade buttercream icing that was awesome--it made everything stick really nicely, like the licorice side mirrors that are stuck onto the cake horizontally.
