Turtle Cake

I made this turtle cake for a lady's birthday who loves turtles. It really is pretty easy to make. First, I baked and stacked 3 round cakes and then carved them for the shell.

Next, I baked a fourth round cake that I used to make the head and the 4 legs. I thinned out my Wilton recipe icing to get a crumb coat on so that I would be able to add the stars later. I used the Wilton recipe icing and then decorated using a couple of different star tips.

There is a tail on the turtle, it is made from 3 layers of icing.
