I love tiered cakes and got this idea for a swirl cake from Martha Stewart Kids, but theirs was very pink and girly. So I changed the colors and added dots between the layers. Make sure to use support between the layers so the weight doesn’t squish the cake.

I used the Wilton Train 3-D cake pan to create this. It was loosely based on a Thomas the train cake, but I was determined to not have a character cake, so I added other colors and features. I used black licorice for the tracks and colored coconut green for the grass.
