Caillou Cake

Here is a cake I made for a 2 year old that took me about 5 hours.

I used 2 Betty Crocker box cakes and poured the batter into a 15′ by 11′ rectangle pan. I let the cake cool overnight. I then used my cake cutter and cut the cake inhalf, length wise. I used chocolate frosting in the centre of the cake as a filling. Then I put the top half of the cake back ontop of the bottom half. I used homemade butter cream icing to frost the top of the cake in a light blue colour. I found some pictures of Caillou and his friends off the internet and just traced them onto some paper. I then piped the outline of each character using piping gel and tip # 1. Then I transfered the characters onto the centre of the cake. I then outlined the characters with black frsting using tip 1 again. Then I used tips 14 and 16 to fill in the characters with their specific colours. I used tip 21 for the shell border around the top and bottom of the cake. I also added some stars around the sides of the cake using tip # 16. For the words, I used tip # 3 in black buttercream icing, then added stars around the letters using tip 16. Lastly I added some chocolate sprinkles that I purchased at Bulk Barn.
