Coolest Baby Carriage Shower Cake

My old friend from college is going to have a baby boy in 2 weeks. She’s bringing a new Mets fan into the world and this Baby Carriage Shower Cake was my tribute. The cake was a real hit at her baby shower.

I used two 9×13 cake pans and placed the cakes next to each other, one vanilla and one chocolate. I placed the cake from the carriage cake mold on top in the middle of the two rectangle cakes but slightly to the right.

I iced the whole thing with white butter cream icing that I made. Except the blue parts. I smoothed the blue with a small spatula and put M&Ms for the border of the carriage.

I drew the Mets symbol with a small round tip I forget what size, and the piping for the hood of the carriage, and the message. Bigger round tips for the wheels and the handle.

  1. I had the same idea for my friends cake, I’m throwing her a baby shower this Saturday. I had a question for you, did you just place the carriage cake on top or did you use those little wooden sticks?
