I got my idea of a Baby Footprints Baby Shower Cake from a lady who wanted me to make a cake shaped like a baby footprint. I decided to make two feet. I haven’t seen anyone make one so I was anxious to make it.
First I purchased 3 boxes of cakes and baked according to baking guides. I poured batter into a 13×9 rectangular pan (half sheet pan). While the cake was baking I drew a picture of a baby footprint and cut it out. When the cake was finished baking I let cool and cut the cake into two halves. I cut the halves so I could put buttercream icing in between each layers. Put the layers back on top of each half.
I lightly frosted the top of the halves. I only frosted the top since I had to cut it out into feet. Let the cake chill so it would be easy to work with. Put the template I made on top of cake and cut it out. I turned the template over and did the same as the first one. I colored some buttercream blue, frost and let chilled again. After chilled I put little designs.
