Coolest Beer Cake

I made this beer cake for my husband’s 28th birthday. He was very surprised. This cake started as a 12×18 cake. I made a pattern on a piece of paper. I put the paper on top of the cake and cut around it. There was a lot of extra cake but that’s what I used for the banners.

I used homemade buttercream colored with Wilton gel colors and I put yellow sugar sprinkles on top to make it look shiny. I studied a Corona bottle and drew it all on a piece of paper first. Then looking at my drawing I drew on the cake with a toothpick and then just followed the toothpick marks to do the writing.

I also used a very small writing tip. I used lime slices to garnish the edges and I even put a lime wedge in the top of the bottle.
