When I was thinking of a cake to make my mum for her birthday this year, the first thing that came to mind was this. Rum is her drink of choice and only ever Black Heart rum. The cake I rushed together on the day so its a very simple version of the bottle of rum!
The Black Heart Rum cake is a chocolate cake with about 7 layers of gnashe in between layers of cake. To make the shape I cut around a small bowl and made 7 circles then stacked them on top of each other with the gnashe in between and sculpted the top layers to make it taper up to the bottle top.
The icing is all Bakers roll out icing, coloured to the appropriate colours! and looked so good mum refused to cut it!
