I made this Book Cake for my Father’s 80th Birthday! I used 2 modified mixes (cake mix, milk instead of water, 4 eggs, 2 egg white- same amount of oil) for the cake itself (it’s a yellow cake and a basic butter cream frosting) and baked it in a large, rectangular pan.
The book is made from a sheet of Rice Crispy Treats covered in Chocolate Fondant. I laid it over a the heavily frosted yellow cake and cut the letters and bookmark out of the remaining fondant. The letters are painted with Gold Luster Dust/ Vodka mix.
It’s a bit bumpy and not my best work but I’m sure my DAD will LOVE it since I made it for him myself!
