This Car Birthday Cake was made with butter cream icing (for the glue) and fondant. It took me about 8 hours to complete this cake including baking. I used an airbrush machine to color the cake and I mixed a tad of black icing gel into white fondant to get the grey/silver for the mag wheels, windows and chrome.
I also used silver pearl dust to paint over the grey/silver fondant to make it look more natural. For the tires I used black fondant and I finished the small details on the car (lines) prior to airbrushing. I also used some metallic teal pearl dust that I dusted with a brush. I purchased the metallic color at the Atlantic City Bakery Expo.
