I made this Cars Racetrack Birthday Cake for my son Liam’s 2nd birthday. He loves Cars! It was a single layer, half chocolate, half vanilla cake. I frosted the entire top surface of the cake with green vanilla flavored frosting. I then piped the outside edges of the cake to look like a racing flag. I used chocolate and vanilla frosting for that.
I darkened the chocolate with black food coloring. I had to have some chocolate in there.
The track was made out of black fondant, then I frosted over it with chocolate frosting. The lightning bolts were made out of yellow fondant. I then added his toy cars to replay the final scene of the movie. To top it off I piped “Happy Birthday” and it was complete.
Liam loved his Cars cake!
