Cute Homemade Cat Cake for my Niece’s Birthday

I offered to make a gluten free Cat cake for my niece’s 2nd birthday. I actually got the idea from a few different cakes from this site.

I needed 3 round shaped cakes to create all the parts, cutting the ears and tail from one. I made one cake gluten free for my husband’s family and two plain old chocolate cakes.

Icing is butter cream with colours added. I used a very small spatula for the icing which took some patience. It was easier to ice the cake after putting it in the freezer for 15 mins. I also used the gel icing pens for all the other lines, they are really easy to use.

  1. Thanks so much for the how to cut the cake directions. Just what I needed. I helped my 21 year old son make this cake (our first together!) for his girlfriend. We had a fabulous time!
