Cool Homemade Climbing Wall Cake

This Climbing Wall birthday cake was made for my 10 year old son’s birthday. I made a rectangle cake, covered it in white icing. I then used colouing to paint gray. The climbing holds are smarties. Icing was used to create the climber.

Easier than you may think. I used red liquorish string for the climbing rope.

  1. Thank you for posting – I used this as an idea for my brothers 30th birthday cake and it went down a treat! As promised it was easier than expected

  2. I just made this cake today for my daughter’s 7th birthday party. It wasn’t too difficult-it was my first-ever effort with a piping bag and tips, and it turned out great! It was easy to transport as well! The cake was a hit!

  3. What a great idea for a climbing cake. I’m making this for our son’s 3rd birthday. We have a climbing wall in our basement and climb every Tuesday and Thursday night with friends. We’ll share his birthday with our climbing buddies and the cake.
