I made this Crane Truck Birthday Cake Design for my son’s 3rd birthday. He loves mighty machines and of course picked one of the more complicated ones, a crane truck! I baked 2 9×13 cakes and then cut and stacked them into the shape of the truck. I made marshmallow fondant to cover and decorate with.
The crane was simply a plastic cake dowel covered in MMF and stuck into the cake (at the last moment of course because it was quite heavy). I used dental floss to attach the crane hook.
All my hard work paid off. My son loved the cake!
