Coolest Diaper Castle Cake

I made this diaper castle cake for my best friend’s baby shower, she is the girliest girl ever and was having a boy, so I decided to do a prince theme shower. I had so much fun making this as it was my first attempt at making one.

It was pretty easy and took about 95 diapers. I made it out of size 2’s. I formed the bottom layer around a square box to keep the square form. Each diaper is folded in half and then half again and tucked into the ribbon I had loosely laying around the box. I did the same for the second tier but without the box in the middle. The top tier is just several diapers that were arranged into a circular pattern.

To make the towers I stuck a dowel rod into the diapers below it and wrapped a diaper around the rod and secured with ribbons. The turrets are made of card stock with ribbons glued to toothpicks and the design in the middle was taken from the middle of the decorative plates I purchased as the theme and ribbons were threaded into the sides and tied around the cake.

I sprinkled glitter anywhere I could and the very top layer I braided 3 ribbons and tied around the diapers. This was so much fun and I definitely plan on doing many more diaper cakes and hope my best friend loves this as much as I do!
