I was asked to do a dog birthday cake as a surprise for one of the manager’s in my work for a 50th birthday. As she doesn’t have any children, her dog is like her baby so I was really nervous about getting this right. I had no idea how I was going to tackle this one as I had never done anything like it before. I was given a black and white picture and a description of the color and left to my own imagination.
I baked a square cake, then just started carving and hoped for the best! She was so happy when she saw the cake….she thought it was a teddy at first sitting on her desk!
She loved the cake so much that she took a picture of her dog beside it (if this was any other dog I think the cake would be gone the second it was sat down beside it) and took it to show all her friends and family. I still don’t think she’s ate it!
