This Homemade Dumptruck Birthday Cake Design couldn’t be more simple. I made it for my son’s 3rd birthday party at his daycare. I baked and froze a 9×11 chocolate cake. Once frozen I took it out and broke it apart into pieces and set them into the dumptruck box. I had some mini chocolate cupcakes on hand so I fit them (I used 4) into the box as well and smeared some icing onto them and the cake pieces sticking up.
It does not have to look perfect or pretty, in fact, you don’t WANT it too! I then crushed up a few Oreo cookies and a few chocolate chip cookies and sprinkled them on top.
All of this was done in one of my son’s dump truck toys that he already had and took 5 minutes. You could then use a toy shovel to serve it if you like!
