I made this Florida Gator Birthday Cake for my husband’s co-workers birthday! She is a huge Florida Gators fan and loves going fishing so we came up with the idea to make a gator cake eating a fish! The fish is made out of rice krispie treats. The rest of the cake is 100% cake and I used the mini round Wilton pan for the feet and just cut them to look like gator feet.
The claws and teeth were made out of gumpaste. I piped the entire gator and design with the star tip. There is a board under the gator mouth to help hold it open…plus the fish helps with that. I carved the head and again used the mini round ball pan for the eyes! I think this has been one of my favorite cakes I have made and it was a lot of fun!
