Simple Homemade Football Field Cake

This football field cake was a fun cake. I made it last year for my son’s birthday. I did a single layer full size sheet pan. After baking it, cut off the top to make it level. This was the piece I used to cut out the football on top to make it stand up a bit.

I started with the #16 tip and iced the football. The field is also done with the # 16 tip. I put the yard lines first and then went to work on the green of the field. I added the numbers for the yard lines and added TOUCH DOWN!! to each end zone.

I wanted to add goal posts but couldn’t come up with a quick idea. I bought little wooden footballs that I used for the corners just for a little extra.

He loved this cake and it looked great when it was finished. Your hand will get a little tired but it is well worth it! Have fun!
