Cool Homemade Giraffe Cake

My 12 year old daughter loves giraffes.

I used two Betty Crocker devils food cake mix as I find they are really light and easy to sculpt.

We made this Giraffe cake by baking first a rectangle cake and then a circle cake and cutting the shape, following a picture on a birthday card.

The rectangle cake makes the neck and the circle cake makes the head.

Extra pieces cut off made the ears and horns.

Frosting is vanilla (Betty Crocker) with a little yellow food coloring, and chocolate, piped with a fluted tip for mane, and a plain tip for the giraffes spots. The eye was made using black writing icing (Dr Oetkers)

It was pretty easy, and definitely had the WOW factor!
