Coolest Homemade Golf Cake for my Grandfather

This golf cake is one of my favorite cakes that I have ever made. This was made for my grandfather’s 70th Birthday. I was inspired by many different websites after I knew that I wanted a golf themed cake.

There are three tiers involved, two chocolate, and one white. I iced all of the cakes green on the top and blue on the sides to form the sky and grass. I cut out shapes with fondant in two different shades of green. One cut out was the trees for the bottom tier and cut out of hills for the top tier.

I purchased a golf cake topper set (Wilton) at a local bakery and placed the figurines around the cake. For the sand pit I dug a hole in the cake and placed crushed graham crackers in its place. For the water I dyed piping gel dark blue and placed that on top of white icing on the cake. I placed a bead border on all of the cakes and used shells for the bottoms.

  1. I live near DFW airport. Do you know some cake decorating supply stores in the area that sell this golf cart topper?
