Coolest Guitar Cake

A friend asked me to make his son’s cake who loves to play the guitar. I went online to find a picture but I couldn’t get one big enough, so I had to freehand a guitar cake.

I used white chocolate for the (well the decoration on the base not sure what its called), brown chocolate for the pickups, rolos for the knobs, kisses for the tuners. The base of the cake was a 9×13 chocolate cake and the neck was rice crispy treats.

I used buttercream for the entire cake, and used a viva paper towel to smooth it out after it crusted. Then came the fun part for me. I used my airbrush (I got it last year for my birthday, love it!) and blue food coloring for the base and brown for the neck. The only thing that wasn’t edible was the string.

I found some sliver twine at my local drug store. I put his son’s name on the neck where the name of the guitar is usually at. It ended up being 3ft long! But his son loved it!
