Fun Homemade Hamburger Birthday Cake

I made this hamburger birthday cake for my husband’s grandson who turned 14. The boys all went crazy over it.

I used an 8″ round bowl for the top bun, 8″ round cake for the bottom bun. The hamburger was a chocolate 9″ covered in butter cream and then ground up choco chips. I found a template to use red melting chocolate to form three tomato slices. The french fries were made from the cake that was cut from the top of the bowl, placed under the broiler and watched carefully as they were turned on all sides to brown. I could not get my icing red enough so I went to the store and used some out of a tube for the ketchup. The seeds on the top bun were from icing colored in ivory and using a tip #3.

Thanks to all who post tips and how to dos. I could not have done this with out them.
