I made this hockey cake for my husband who is a huge Montreal Canadians fan. The cake is four layers of devils food cake with a chocolate ganache filling. I made the ganache just by adding heated heavy cream to chocolate chips, let it cool and then whipped until thick.

The cake is covered in vanilla butter cream. I first did a crumb coat and put the cake in the freezer to harden a little, then I downloaded the logo from the internet and placed the paper over the chilled cake and poked holes with a pin to copy outline.

I then covered the cake by piping butter cream using a #16 star tip. This cake was a lot of fun to make and my husband loved it as well.
