Coolest Hula Girl Birthday Cake

My youngest daughter’s birthday was coming up and she wanted to have a pool party. Since the party would be near water, I decided to turn it into a luau. I wanted her to have a Hula Girl Cake.

I used the Wilton’s Doll Cake pan. I also made two 8 inch round cakes for the doll cake to sit on (to make it taller). I used the Wilton Buttercream icing recipe for frosting on the cake. I dyed the icing to make the green grass skirt and pink accents. I used a butter knife to frost the cake and then dragged a plastic fork down the cake to seperate the icing so that it looked like a grass skirt. I used milk duds for the bra.

This was my first and only experience baking a cake. It was so much fun! My daughter and all her guests LOVED it!!
