Coolest Lego Cake

My son wanted a Lego themed birthday party for his 7th birthday. I decide to do individual cakes for each of his friends. For the base of the Lego cake I took some bubble wrap and taped it to a piece of cardboard. I then melted a can of white frosting and added green food coloring. I then poured it over the bubble wrap and took a frosting knife to spread it out.

On the cakes themselves I cut a 9×13 cake into several different rectangles. I then took a large marshmallows and cut them in half. After placing them on the cake I melted some colored frosting and poured it over the cakes (which were placed on a cooling rack for the excess frosting to run off. Once the frosting set up I put them on the base.

The cakes were a huge success!

  1. I love your tips with the icing covered bubble wrap and the melted icing over the cakes. Makes it sound so simple and yet looks so great. I’m going to try this for my sons Lego cake.
