Coolest Mickey & Minnie Mouse Cakes

This was my first really big project. I made Mickey & Minnie Mouse Cakes for my twin grandbabies 1st birthday. I made a 13×9 sheet cake to write on. Made one chocolate cake, one french vanilla, and one red velvet. To save time I did the fondant cutouts about a week early, the letters, I alternated black and red, made the cutout circles and I made small ones for the ears and made little Mickey’s, colored my icing.

I bought the cake pan at Michaels. It has the instructions with it on how to color all icing. The black is the hardest, even though I started with chocolate, I couldn’t seem to get it black enough. But the longer it set, the darker it got. I cheated and bought the bow for Minnie. Also realized after it was too late, that if I would’ve use the star tip that has 3 openings~would have saved me a little time! I know now.
