Coolest Mickey Mouse Cake

This Mickey Mouse Cake was super easy to make. I used two chocolate round cakes for the ears and baked two sheet cakes to put together to make the face. To ensure that Mickey’s face was cut perfectly round, I turned one of my pans upside down and traced around it with the knife.

The icing was simply store bought icing that I colored with food coloring. Just a couple drops of yellow and red to make Mickey’s flesh-tone. Chocolate icing with just a couple drops of black food coloring worked great for the ears (and less food coloring means less stains on the kids!).

Each of the three pieces were on their own round cardboard “plate” … the kind that you can buy at the party stores for just this purpose. Made transfer of the cake so simple because I wasn’t trying to move something huge. I just set it up on the table in pieces and no one knew the difference.

Once each cake was iced, I took a toothpick and drew Mickey’s face on in the icing. Then all that was left was to color in the “lines” with a small tip. Used a slightly larger tip to fill in the tongue and eyes.

Super easy and everyone was incredibly impressed … especially my 4-year-old!
