Coolest Monster Truck Birthday Cake

Our son was turning 3 and loves the big trucks that resemble the Monster Jam trucks. We decided on a blue truck. After extensive research online, this is what we came up with!

First, to hold the homemade monster truck birthday cake, I covered a wood board in tin-foil for an easy display. The truck itself was made entirely of cake with 4 mixes in total- all Vanilla. The body of the truck and cab is 3 loaf pans. The cab is one loaf split in half and carved at an angle for the windshield. The monster-size tires were baked in metal mixing bowl pans. A thorough greasing and flouring was needed for easily removal of the cake after it cooled.

The ground is crushed graham crackers and brown sugar. I added Oreo cookies for ‘wheels’. Lug nuts are candy-silver balls. M&M’s were added for ‘lights’, white frosting for the windshield and black for trim. We added a 3 yr old candle on top with 3 candles in the bed of the truck- as 3 year olds love candles!

It was fun and easy to make, but best of all it brought a huge smile to our son’s face.
