Coolest Muno Birthday Cake

This Muno Birthday Cake was a labor of love for my little guy who just turned one. As with a lot of kids his age Yo Gabba Gabba is his favorite show and Muno is his favorite character.

This cake took about three days to complete but it was worth it in the end to see my son’s little face light up with a smile as I placed the cake on the table. This was my first time baking a cake like this and I am very proud of myself.

I started off with a simple white chocolate cake recipe and then added crushed Oreos to it. I baked two cakes in a 11×15 inch pan then cut them in half to layered it three tiers high. I used a white chocolate and cream cheese for the filling.

Then I cut the cake into the Muno shape. I used the left over layer to make the hand which I attached with frosting. I also used the white chocolate and cream cheese to frost the outside of the cake. Then I placed the cake into the refrigerator to harden.

Rolled butter fondant was used to decorate the cake. That was really easy to make but I found it a little tricky to work with, but still fun. I colored the fondant with red food gel for the body, black for the mouth and eye, then pastel blue for the trim. The eyeball itself is all fondant. Once I decorated the cake I placed it back into the refrigerator to harden.

This cake was a big hit at the party, I hope you all like it as much as he did!
