Coolest Ohio State Buckeyes Cake

Every year I try to come up with a creative way to celebrate the Ohio Sate University versus Michigan University football game. I decided to make a Block O Ohio State Buckeyes Cake. I used 2 cake mixes and a large sheet pan. The cake took forever to bake, and was slightly depressed in the center. This ended up working out perfectly and gave great shape to my “O”.

I trimmed the four corners to make the shape and used store bought red frosting, as I hate making that color! I crumb coated and base coated in white buttercream. With a large star tip I did the red and used a round tip for the grey and white stripes. I also used store bought green to save time. I was not happy with my leaf, but I had never made one before.

The “buckeye” was a Ferrero Rocher candy and it looked perfect! Go Bucks!
