Coolest Peppa Pig Cake

This Peppa Pig Cake is the first cake I have ever made. It was for my cousin’s 3rd birthday and this is what she asked for.

First of all, I made the cake, which a normal Victoria sponge recipe. It was made in an 8 inch round cake tin. Once the cake had cooled, I froze it to make it easier to cut and shape. I stuck the 2 slices together with jam and covered in a thick layer of buttercream.

I then used fondant icing/sugar paste to cover the cake. I coloured the icing a pale blue to represent the sky. I also put a pale blue strip around the bottom to cover any creases.

To decorate the cake, I coloured some icing brown and green and then shaped this into a tree and leaves. I stuck these to the cake with icing sugar. I also used some white fondant icing to make a cloud.

The cake was then put onto a 11″ square cake board which had been covered in a layer of green buttercream.

The Peppa Pig figures were made from fondant icing as well and stuck together with edible glue and dried spaghetti. They took about 7 days to set. They were then set on the board around a picnic blanket and a red piece of icing which was used to put the candles in.

My cousin absolutely loved the cake and her older sister then decided she wanted a cake for her birthday.

I got the idea from other cakes I’d seen on this website and changed to suit me.
