This pirate ship cake was actually very easy. We took 3 boxes white cake mix and put 1 1/2 into the flat cookie sheets. We made 2 of them for the base which was the water. We used little blue sprinkles for the water also.
The ship was 2 9×13 choc. cakes cut to the shape of the boat and had extra layers on the front and back so the middle was shallower. We held all the layers together with choc. frosting. We used malted milk balls for cannon balls and choc covered pretzels for the cannon holes.
We stuck candles in the holes and lit them. The island was just cut off pieces from the boat with the vanilla icing and then we covered in it in crushed graham cracker. The toys were all from my son’s little people pirate ship.
