I made this Princess and the Frog birthday cake for my friend’s daughter…she loves the Princess and the Frog and her mom asked if I could possibly try to make something. I looked for ideas on the internet. There’s so many sites with so many techniques I was so overwhelmed but I decided to just put bits from everything together.
The doll cake is round vanilla flavored cakes which I layered with chocolate butter icing in between which I molded by cutting away to get the desired shape and covered it with sugar paste. She is a smaller than normal size doll so that she could fit on the large square cake.
The square cake is a layer of chocolate and a layer of vanilla with vanilla butter icing. The rest is all sugar paste except the happy birthday sign and the candles.
I surprised myself but thoroughly enjoyed myself and am very proud!
