This pumpkin cake is two bundt cakes put together. I used a pound cake because they are dense enough to stand up to the heavy frosting. I made chocolate buttercream frosting for under the fondant.
I used MM fondant in orange, green, brown and black. The stem is a granola bar in half wrapped in brown fondant and I used my pizza cutter to make the marks. The leaves are fondant cut to shape, I used a fork on its side to make the veins in the leaves.
I garnished it with fall foliage and “creepy crawlies” to cover the imperfections in the fondant when I covered the cake. I took this cake to work and people loved it!
