Coolest Realistic Wolf Cake

I began this Realistic Wolf Cake with two 9×13 sheet cakes and placed one above the other on a piece of foam board covered in freezer paper. It took up a lot of space! I cut the ears out and used that piece for his muzzle. I used a chocolate covered walnut for his nose and wound up covering that with black frosting as I made his mouth.

First I used a star tip on a bag and filled it with different shades of chocolate frosting and some buttercream too. The colors mixed beautifully and looked like fur. Then I frosted his face with white and buttercream frosting to make it smooth. Then I frosted his nose and mouth with a WILTON tube of black frosting and a fine tip. As I was doing this I realized I could make shades of gray by mixing it with the buttercream and white, SO I made a palette out of my left hand and used my right hand to ‘paint’ his face on! It was very messy but fun and it worked just great since I couldn’t think of a better way!

Having the wolf picture to look at made all the difference. I learned a lot and can’t wait to make another one. I will post my previous horse cakes soon, too.
